Went out and wandered town a bit on Sunday, didn't have much time but did get to put the 18-150 to the test, and I'm impressed with it all things considered.

Haumoana - lovely evening by the end of our walk: took RAW files to SNS - HDR (single shot) for tonemapping. Also both are quite heavily cropped = good test for the EF - M 55 - 200 ...

Thanks _ I'm very mindful of horizons these days :-) It was just lovely to be there, no wind by the end of our walk, and that lovely light.

Ms Rosey the lens is pretty much a do-it-all lens for me. It is sharp and has a good range. Here is another portrait shot in jpeg with NO sharpening that I had to photoshop to lessen detail as it showed too many wrinkles. Actually my wife MADE me take out the wrinkles. The 1st shot is a slightly cropped image then the second pic is a 100% view of the 1st showing the detail (with a lot of the detail photoshopped out). If you notice it is ISO400 (which also lessens detail slightly).

Here is the difference in size between my Full Frame 24-120mm Nikkor lens and the Canon ef-m 18-150mm. Neither lens is extended to its max zoom which would show an even larger difference. Just my 2 cents:lol:. The flippy LCD came in handy on these shots. 4 of the 5 cameras I have (listed) use an articulating screen that I use every time I shoot them.

Hey Joseph,
Do you use your 18-150 often?

Hey Joseph,
Do you use your 18-150 often?

It's the only EF-M lens I have but it depends on what I'm doing really, some weeks not at all, other weeks quite a bit.
Main camera for kids soccer at present is the 1D3/100-400, and any time I'm not in the mood to lug that around the M5/18-150 gets the nod.
My eldest son is grading for a higher belt in karate tomorrow & the lighting is pretty dim so I'll probably take the 70-200 2.8 rather than the 18-150..
