Any lenses you would definitely recommend? Being in Hawaii I definitely miss my 17-40 (where the 11-22 would come into play) but also want something for my little 6 month old Lani-Lu!

Had a 6D....
Then had a daughter....
Now have an SL2 and Mavic Pro.... Man life changes.
I would encourage you... To just go for it.

My only real gripe on the EF-M zoom lenses is they don’t have faster apertures.

Great for size and weight when that is a concern, but I use my other EF lenses and the adapter just as often, if not more.

I have the 11-22mm, 15-45mm, and 55-200mm zooms as well as the 22mm prime. I also have the Rokinon 8mm 2.8 and 12mm 2.0 manual primes.

I have the 15-45mm, the ef 40mm with the adaptor, and the 18-150mm which is on my camera 95% of the time. It (18-150mm) is an all around lens but a bit larger combo than the other lenses but MUCH smaller than my full frame zooms. It is relatively sharp and has good image stabilization. I can use it at 22mm and can have an f3.5 aperture setting with image stabilization. The macro capabilities are good also as I can get as close as 4 inches at 62mm. Like I said earlier, it is a bit larger than the other lenses but still very lightwieght. I got my M5 the 18-150mm and the 15-45mm as a combo on ebay for less than $1,000.

MNo new firmware updates from Canon? I feel canon has abandoned this camera.... no new prime lenses... nothing... sad.

I'll be using my new Milvus 85mm Zeiss on it next week.

May also order some pancake lenses and the Rokinon 12mm 2.0

After browsing options, I found there's plenty to use on the M5 ... some small, some not ...

i think this camera does best in bright days but in the shade.... my 85mm has some serious chromatic aberrations in bright sunlight wide open! otherwise, this camera is a keeper!

Super shots David!! Pretty lady. I'm curious, did you use the EVF or LCD to shoot these?

I never use LCD.... maybe its the old schooler in me, but i prefer having the viewfinder on my eye, this way i see my settings, exposure etc..... for some reason, the lcd i cant frame the shot correctly and even mess up my horizons... lol

Thanks David, I'm sure most professionals are like you, except maybe on portrait shots.

Is it awkward using an EVF instead of the OVF?

its always awkward using the EVF...... I prefer OVF all day.... but.... that being said, to me it's natural putting an EVF or OVF in my eve.... i cant use the LCD unless i'm squatting down over a puddle to take some super low photos...... thats all, its me, not the camera... i enjoy the eos M5...
