TABLET MOUNT ON TRIPOD

looking for way to mount my surface pro to my tripod. Do not really want to spend 400 bucks on horizontal post assembly and table for tripod.

May or may not be helpful, but have you looked at thingiverse (external link)?

I had to use an iPad to record videos of basketball games and couldn't imagine holding the stupid thing for over an hour. I found a design there for the correct iPad and printed it (we have a low end 3d printer at work).

The hardest part was jamming a hot 1/4-20 nut into the plastic.

If you don't have access to a 3d printer (lots of libraries have them now) there are places you can order a print online where they charge for material and print time.
