Don't know if this has been posted, but Canon has a new firmware, 1.1.7. Doesn't look like anything major except, maybe, not being able to use Magic Lantern.

Never upgraded my firmware, think it is 1.1.3. Not broken, and yeah think that is what one wants for ML so I'll stay there.

Looks like I might even get some time to load it and check it out soon.

Not advertised as a bug fix, but my 6D now connects to my phone since updating from 1.1.6 where I could get the wifi connnection but never have it actually be recognized as a camera on the phone.

A summary of firmware updates can be found at https://www.canon.com.au …ort-News/Firmware-Updates (external link).

Specifically what 1.1.7 does for the 6D is summarized below:

Firmware Version 1.1.7 incorporates the following fix:

Corrects a phenomenon in which when using the camera with the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM lens, even if lens aberration correction is set to “Enable”, correction will not be applied.

Firmware Version 1.1.7 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.1.6. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.1.7, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

Please note:

If the firmware is updated from version 1.1.6 or before, the following setting will be reset to default.

Menu > Custom Function> C.Fn II: Autofocus > AF Microadjustment> 1: All by same amount

When updating the firmware of the camera, please review the instructions thoroughly before you download the firmware.
