Last Thurs night at Olmstead Point. Yosemite National Park.(Half Dome is center bottom)

So, are you suggesting level the background, and show the slope.
I've run across similar situations,where I must decide what to level.
In this particular image I believe it works the way it is, although I do see your point...IMO
