The only thing harder for me to photograph than Ruby-crowned Kinglets are Golden-crowned Kinglets. I see far fewer of the latter and, if it is to be believed, I think they are even faster. Saturday saw a lot of Ruby-crowns moving through. On Sunday, nothing except for a late day Golden-crown.

spent a good part of today chasing a slew of these little buggers in and around the brush. Don't think I got any keepers, but maybe there are some in there. Good job!

Good job. I've had a couple ruby crowns here the past few days and haven't got a shot. Speedy little buggers.

Love #1, you captured it well - now if only they would stay still on a perch with an uncluttered background!!

#2 seems to have a greyish tinge (on my uncalibrated monitor) or does the exposure need a boost (or is it my monitor!)
Difficult birds to capture, TFS

Ah, finding one motionless on a perch - therein lies the rub.

The coloration of the species is quite different with the ruby-crowned brownish and the golden-crowned definitely gray. The light was very poor when I shot the latter, so that could explain some of it. However, one can only increase the exposure during processing so much without things looking phony.

Anyway, thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.
