Was out of my home woods in N Michigan and got out to So Cal last weekend. I got to observe and photograph the Acorn Woodpecker. A marvelous and fantastic species to watch. Gregarious. Social. Doing their acorn thing. I just had a wonderful time.

Anyway, I took a couple hundred shots. Here are a couple.

Haven't seen one of those beauties in a long time, excellent clarity, hope you post some more.

Very dramatic image the first. Nicely done. Those birds get around . They're even here in Colombia.
