#1 looks odd as the sunlight only hits the tree and not anywhere else. I would also not place the main focus right in the middle either.

Yes. It WAS odd! The sun cut down between two layers of clouds for a short opportunity for the shot. In retrospect, it is somewhat "overcentered"
