House Wren (Pacific Subspecies)

Another shot from my recent trip to Southern California. My first impression of this bird was "House Wren" but it did not look right.

I had to reference the field guide and sure enough; it was a House Wren but these California fellows are slightly different from the House Wrens back home in Northern Michigan. A fun little ID challenge and photo op.

Nicely done Greg, quite similar to our east coast Carolina. Very nice detail especially considering that all your light was in the back, the details on the Wren are really nice, Well done I say! Really is tough light to deal with, if they are like our Carolinas, they don't hang around long.
