Yes Mike, that is pretty wild!
I saw it one time at a SoCal car show a few years ago.
You did a good job on the lighting.

Thanks! Getting the exposure right(ish) was tricky. Trial and error.. . One of the fantastic things about digital photography, right?

I'm mainly here for the snacks

I'm curious to know what you think is so good about his other compositions. They're all cropped to center the subject, except for the one you posted. lol

I find them visually attractive.

Your photos have very good composition, but I especially like this one!

Thank you, sir! Those beautiful cars all lined up makes it easier to snap some nice photos. This was the first spring event that wasn't cancelled due to Covid-19. Just glad to get out of the house and shoot something.:-)

Two Shelby Cobras from a 2014 car show. At the time I was told one was original, the other a replica.
I don't remember which is which, but a flickr member says the red one is real, the blue a replica.

I was watching an episode of Pawn Stars, where they said there are 100 companies building replica Cobras.

The blue one is the replica. There were only 5 or so Daytona coupes ever made.

I've never known that much about them; I only know that Mr. Carroll Shelby managed to enact
a continuation of production by procuring chassis and other parts left over a few decades ago.
He put this together somewhere in Nevada, assembled a handful of cars, and auctioned them off
to the highest bidders. Helluva lucrative thing, that...
I read about the whole thing in a issue of Motor Trend magazine, probably some-when around
1989 towards the late-1990s.

One thing I repeatedly heard/read about, is that many were capable in stock fitting
to accelerate from standstill to 100MPH and back to dead stop, in something like 14 seconds.
For the originals.
Dunno how accurate that is...

If you wanna get giggity about AC Cobra cars, check out these Barn Find Hunter (external link) videos
on YouTube, produced by Hagerty (external link).
A bonus for Ferrari lovers, too.

Yes, but the blue one isn't a Cobra, it's a Daytona. As far as I know, no production models were ever built. Only a handful for racing, and not all of them exist today. I think I last read about an original selling for over $7m.

The blue one was probably built by Superformance, there were a couple of Daytona Coupes at Shelby American in Gardena when I was there earlier in the year.

Thanks for sharing this. According to the site, one of the 6 original Coupes is owned by a Walmart heir and worth $15 million.
But Superformance can sell you their version of the Coupe for only half a million.

Or there is always Factory Five. Their base kit for the Daytona is around $17k, drivetrain not included but a surprising number of other parts are - suspension, gauges, cooling system etc.
I've seen a couple of their completed Cobras, looks like a quality product.

Love the looks of this car. Is that a grill from a 32 coupe?
