End of service on Canon lenses

I was wondering if there is a notification of any kind sent out or posted online someplace when a given Canon lens will no longer be serviced by Canon?
I have a 600 F4 l IS version one that works fine but I would consider sending it in just to have it looked over if I knew that Canon was not going to service them any longer.

I have not seen any official notices but, here in the UK, lenses fall off the CPS qualifying list when they are no longer supported. It is still there - I just checked!

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).
