More info | Oct 27, 2016 06:43 | #2 I just recently (August) got an XPS 8900, I got the 16 GB RAM 256 GB SSD/2TB HDD version with the GTX960/2GB GPU. I have paired it with the Dell 27" 5K monitor, you need a GPU with dual DP 1.2 ports to run the 5K at 60 Hz, so IIRC that excludes the 730m GPU for that monitor. Would be great with any of the 4K monitors though. I have been more than happy with the performance in LR/PS, I don't think that reducing to 8 GB would be a big issue with either of those programs. I would probably suggest installing an SSD for the OS/Programs though.

Perfectly Frank wrote in post #18168288 If some one wanted a more powerful pc this would be a good starting point. I threw the link out there because as Perfectly Frank says, this is a good starting point. One has to remember that on this forum we have people that don't spend their life crunching images and a quality PC is all they need. The machine I linked to is not a "base" machine, it is well configured, especially when one considers the price.
