.

I watched the video on the page you linked to; looks extremely impressive. And innovative.

The only thing that absolutely kills me is that in the video they showed fingers touching the screen and palms resting on the screen. When I see that I can't help but to cringe a the thought of the fingerprints that would inevitably get on the screen if it were ever used in such a manner. I can't stand any smudging or dust or anything whatsoever on my monitor's surface - it's got to be absolutely, perfectly clean or I don't use it. For creative types that always want images on their monitor to look absolutely perfect, without any blemishes whatsoever, it doesn't seem like a touch screen makes any sense at all.

If I owned one of those, I would ALWAYS be using the puck thing to ensure that my fingertips or the heel of my hand never came into contact with the screen.

"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Guess I'm an old-fogey type. I prefer the "mainframe" style...

I agree completely - as a designer myself it seems the tech boys are always adding isn't-this-so-cool stuff to Adobe as well, which simply impedes the design process and adds more steps to the simplest tasks.

I agree it looks nice, but I don't believe in all-in-one computers that aren't laptops or similar portables.

Just because a computer has a touch screen doesn't mean you HAVE to touch it - it's not compulsory.

Right, of course. I thought that it was very obvious that I completely understood this, else I would not have said this in the aforementioned post:

I am pro Microsoft and i own a Surface Pro I7 version and i like it. But the studio for be late 2016 the spects are outdated. Should be more impressive in specs numbers. Is way too much money for what they offer.

It's a waste to not take advantage of the touch/pen features. This thing is heavily being compared to the Wacom Cintiq. It is considered a deal because currently the Cintiq needs a workhorse of a PC to power it and the Cintiq alone is over $2k.

https://www.engadget.com …studio-designer-reaction/ (external link)

A 27-inch Wacom Cintiq costs $2,800, and it needs to be plugged into a computer at least as powerful as a Surface Studio. So Microsoft's $3,000 starting price doesn't seem crazy after all.

If you are buying something like this and not taking advantage of that touch/pen feature alone, then it is just as bad as buying the brand new Macbook Pro to check your email once a day.

So as much as some thinks this will get in the way of creativity, there are many who think otherwise. (external link)

I would love to see an iMac with these features. If it works as well as the iPad/AstroPad, then it would be awesome! Cracks me up when people complain about fingerprints...I don't think they realize you can actually clean the screen!

Right, of course you can clean the screen - of course people realize that.

ButI don't ever want any fingerprints on my screen.......not even for a second or two. So if I ever touched my screen, I would be compelled to immediately - and I mean immediately - clean off the fingerprint before I did anything else.

I don't ever want to see anything on my computer screen with a fingerprint marring the view, not even for a second or two. Stopping to clean the screen after every single touch of the finger would be extremely inconvenient, and would ruin my experience with the computer.
