I am torn as to which one to get. They both get decent reviews. Mainly looking for a good walk around prime and I do a lot of portraits ( of my kids) which lens would you go for? If you have sample images thatll be great!

Oct 28, 2016 15:11 | #2 For walk around, I'd go 25. For Portraits, I'd go 45, lol. Sorry I couldn't help decide. Both are great lenses and not that expensive either, so if you can stretch it, get both. Of the two though, I'd suggest the 25 first. 45 could be too long for general walk around. Current Gear: Sony RX1RII

If I had to pick 1 of them, I'd go with the 25mm. Canon EOS 7D | Olympus OM-D E-M5 II | Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM | Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8

Jun 12, 2017 22:52 | #7 Based on your needs stated in the post, 25 for sure. IMHO Nikon D850 and a bunch of stuff, I have learned a lot here when I was shooting Canon, staying to keep learning..."Every time I set up I learn something new".

The 35mm focus length is great for walk-around and street photography. I picked up a 45 specifically for portraits. Both are great glass.
