You'll have to excuse my ignorance but is this what you are referring to?

No. Look in your manual index for "Processing Parameters", specifically the items contrast, sharpness, saturation, etc.
What is sharpness set at?

Am using a 7D Mark II . . . . . . .

The original file size of the image is 2.24MB.

Holy smokes - something is wrong, then.

If you are using a 7D2, and the size of the original file is only 2.24MB, then you have it set to the wrong size setting in the camera. I think that even if you are shooting jPegs instead of RAW, if you are shooting full size images, the original file size should still be many times that, like 8 or 10 or 12 MB.

With very fine detail such as a bird's plumage, very small image sizes, like 2.2MB files, will struggle to show all of the fine detail, and this is what may be causing what you perceive as a lack of sharpness.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
