I done an outdoor family portrait shoot last weekend. I shot in 3 locations. The last one, which I warned was not good, due to the harsh sunlight, was where I noticed my Rovelight strange behavior.
I was using my YN 622TX and 622c trigger. The Rovelight would suddenly start flashing on it's own. I'm nowhere near my camera. Has anyone had this happen? What would cause it? I did have the FP remote in my shirt pocket and thought that maybe that triggered it. However I pulled it out of my pocket and held it, not touching the test/fire button and the flash still fired on it's own.

Possible some interference from a nearby electronic device? I think it runs on 2.4gHz bandwidth and that's pretty jam packed.

Well, might have been, but this was a rural, in the country location. There is a highway within 1/4 mile. That's it, unless a nuclear power plant located 12 miles away could have caused interference, finally there's a popular truck stop about 5 miles north.

I've found that batteries that are weak have resulted in strange behaviors as well. You may want to change the channel just to eliminate another possibility.

I had a few extra misfires - seemed to go when I changed the Jinbei Tx battery too.

Done some playing around today with my RL. I didn't charge the battery since last using it and it still showed fully charged (all bars). Today I didn't have the sporadic firing, BUT, the FP remote would not stay connected to the RL. I would need to re-establish connection when I wanted to make changes. Also I could not turn on/off the modeling light using the remote.

FWIW, I was using one of my YN622c with the sync cord on the RL, and the YN622c-TX on my camera. I'm wondering if that interferes with the FP remote. I'm starting to doubt the reliability of these monolights.

I've had the misfires. Changed batteries, changed channels, inside, outside, warm, cool, dry, wet... doesn't matter. Just happens.

The last time... nothing. Worked perfectly. The next time? Who knows.
