I really enjoy your first pic!! I dont know what your trying to exactly show in the second pic though. kinda of a wierd angle and well i just dont know about that one. I love the contrast of the lights etc in the first pic though, GREAT JOB

The second one was an attempt to save original color pic blown out from the sun, it's a wide angle taken with Canon 10-22

I would prefer to see a little more contrast, try using an Orange or Red filter, This can be done by using the channel mixer in photoshop
