Do you sit close to the feeder with you hand outstretched? How do they come to your hand versus just going to the feeder?
Thanks, Sam; I appreciate your commenting. I started by holding some shelled peanuts, their favorites, in my hand, directly over the feeder tray. I do it in the mornings when they're really hungry and when there's nothing else left in the tray but yesterday's sunflower seeds. Then, once they get used to me, I can generally stand anywhere they are and they will come. The little red-breasters are so bold, I've had them fly in my face a hundred yards away, begging for food. There's just something nifty when they trust you enough to land on you.
