I got to try out my 'new' 80-200 F2.8L recently. Looking for feedback, especially on the processing!

olafsosh I am a nice and fluffy dude More info | Nov 12, 2016 12:31 | #3 On processing? Sorry, mate - that's just too much I think. Apart from coloring - they do look like oversharpened or something like that - that nasty unpleasant grit. - Olafs Osh

I see no evidence of over-sharpening, but the bokeh looks a bit nervous. That is a lens quality; there's not much you can do about it. My only nit-pick is to frame a bit more loosely. The kids' attention and the shovel suggest 'environment' to me. I'd like to see just a bit more of the environment they are sitting in. But that's how I shoot. It may not be to your liking.

Nov 19, 2016 14:55 | #7 Yes I also think these are too tight. I'm not sure the desaturated look works here. Also sometimes when the background is busy the bokeh can have a lot of chromatic aberration in it, which can be easily fixed and will give you a more pleasant bokeh. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

Nov 22, 2016 10:28 | #8 Thanks PhotoHols, Bassat, atsilvs. I appreciate the opinions, I was trying something different with the sharp (grainy?) desaturated look and playing with my new 80-200 2.8L... I definitely don't do it justice yet and need more time to learn how to use it! -Tyler
