Floating heads - A first try

This was my first go at something like this. I'm still struggling with the masking in a few spots but I think it still looks acceptable. If anyone else gives it a shot, make sure you get the entire head as variance in head height made me crop this one tighter than desired.

Very nice...


some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Just doesn't feel right to me.

Yes. For me, though, this seems to make the composite work better than correct sizing. I'm seeing the most distant figure as the focus of the shot growing, perhaps. out of father and mother. I would like to see the same level of detail sharpness on the distant figure as on the less distant.

The perspective is certainly all wrong but each individual photo is well taken so a bit more work in post to get the sizes of the heads right and you'll have a much better picture.

Why not photograph all 3 of them together like this. Use a longer lens and you would get the same perspective.
