Those are all things you can change from print to print.

Not everyone understands the thrill of making something yourself. I have made my own L brackets when I could buy one for less than $20, my own holders for hiking with my gear. Heck I even converted my own carry on bag with dividers and all for traveling. Some people just like to make Does not hurt for me that I work in a machine shop and we have a 3d printer. With photography...I make my own photos.

To me, finding a model online and printing it seems about the same as just buying it complete. Why not make the model yourself? Something like a lens hood would be pretty easy to model up. Constructive criticism is always appreciated.

Feb 26, 2017 09:09 | #26 Well its not like it comes out of the printer clean and ready to pop on so I could argue it isnt the same. I cant say the 3d designing part is what gets me excited but if thats your bag more power to you. http://www.facebook.com/DPhillipsStudios

Jul 04, 2017 08:01 | #28 3d printing parts to enhance another hobby is a great idea. and that lens cover didnt look too bad at all in the end. If you'd done a lower layer height of say 0.1 or o.05 you would have got a much better finish and probably wouldn't need to sand an paint it, but you did a good job!
