looks good but a little soft for my taste. Just curious, why did you elect to shoot for 1.3 seconds at only iso800? you're shooting with a markiii and a solid 2.8L lens, I would have preferred to shoot at probably at F4 with a raised ISO to maybe 2000-3200 (and reduce noise in post) and try to minimize the shutter speed. The moon moves incredibly fast! Was this shot on a tripod?

I actually had the 70-200 + 2x @ 330mm. The lake (and my vantage point) was not wide enough for the 400mm to show moon+trees+water so I had to revert back to the 70-200 to get a bigger FOV and I added the converter to get closer when I needed to.

My tripod is fine, but the head can't handle either 5D3+70-200+2X, or 5D3+400 too well; it creeps. I just hate going higher on the ISO because creep+NR makes images mushy so I try to stay low on the ISO.

I was also bracketing. I ended up not layering the 3 shots, and just went with the one that was lit best, hence the 1.3 sec exp. I always try to bracket with moon shots since I like to shoot something in the foreground, and its hard to get everything in one shot because of the exposure difference b/w the moon and everything else.

What you see is a download from FB, so the quality is questionable :)
