I was checking out Black Friday deals and saw that Dell was having a pre BF sale on selected things. One was the 27" Ultrasharp U2717D. It's 2560x1440 and their price is about $440, $230 off. Good deal, right? Then I did some more searching and found out that at Newegg, BH and Adorama it's $420.

It pays to check. We need a new monitor for general use and for LR and occasional PS. Anyone out there using this monitor?

No but I love my Dell U2715K, but it is twice the resolution at 5K.

I really should actually use a 4k monitor. I've always assumed that 4k in 27" would make Windows too small for my old eyes, but I could be wrong.

The Windows 10 screen magnification/scaling system is actually very good, far better than on the 2560×1440 iMac that I sometimes have to use. Win 10 offers a whole range of magnification levels, while still running at the native screen resolution. My friend, who has poor eyesight has to run his Mac at a lower screen resolution to get the same result, which ends up looking pretty bad. It looks like at the moment Win 10 wins in the UHD support category.

That's about the standard price for this monitor. The one that costs about 200 bucks more is the 2716D at ~$690. It offers 100% Adobe RGB and 100% sRGB and is a wide gamut monitor. This one doesn't - and isn't. Still, it will probably work.

Je n'avais pas besoin de cette hypothèse-là.
