While I like photo #2 better as a photo, I think that #1 works better in the space. A LOT better!
Why? Well, I don't think that the colours in the clouds in #2 work very well with the colours in the office - especially the brown woodgrain floor. Conversely, the strong primary colour in #1 works GREAT with the strong primary colour of the chairs, and also complements the brown floor perfectly.
I have trouble understanding why people think that #2 is a better match for this particular space; I am just not seeing how those colours are a better complement for this particular area.
If it were my office, I would definitely be using #1.
