I had a lot of fun with this guy. He was very relaxed before the camera and had a lot of ideas. Interestingly, he is both homeschooled and attends public school part-time. He is entering the military after graduation. Some favorites . . . CC is welcome and so are questions.

1.) They needed some formal shots for his application (they used a head-shot, but I like this one):

2.)

3.) His mom ordered this great T-shirt.

4.) The parents like this, but I gave them one with no words, too. Just an old barn in their backyard!

5.)

6.) He's a huge fan of "The Lord of the Rings."

7.) He's also quite the athelete.

8.)

Excellent shots, Kristin! I'm sure your client loves all his images.

As far as white balance, do you have yours set on auto? How about your focus? Center point?

Thanks, Jenn! I have my WB set to auto because I shoot in RAW and just adjust in Lightroom. My focus is, usually, at center point, but I might change it if the subject is way off-center. :)

Thanks, Kristin! Oh, and just read he's a homeschooler. Our kids are homeschooled as well. :-)

I think the shots look good.

In the first one I'm certain I'd have asked some something different in the stance or legs.

In the 3rd shot he looks like he's trying not to fall backwards.

On the other hand, I can't say I'd walk away with a better set of photos, and do like them.

These are all really nice photos but I would have liked to have seen a bit of a smile in 1 or 2 of them.

Yes, he does! Part-time, at least. Our kids homeschool, too. So far, we've graduated 4 -- 7 more to go (God willing.) :)

Thanks for the feedback! That might be his "military" pose in #1. ;) He definitely wasn't falling backward, could be the angle making him look that way to you (I haven't heard that from anyone else, though.) It's interesting to hear another perspective.

Thanks! It's not always easy to get these Seniors to give me a big smile (esp. the guys,) but I see bits of smile there (and a big one in #2.) :D
