Nov 19, 2016 21:40 | #1 I think this may be a Lewis's woodpecker. Never seen them before. This is on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, south end of the Carson Valley. Sorry about the quality. Thanks cavuken. It was there the day before, and I didn't take the shot. At first I thought it was a hummingbird when I shot it, but once I saw the size, I had no idea. Very colorful for a woodpecker.
