I think that my pocket is always burning, even if there isn't any cash there. I do have one though and I will use it next.

I hadn't noticed it too much but I can see it. Do you think that it is partly because the background and foreground are so green and she has a green shirt on? Maybe there is too much green in the overall picture?

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback.

I do agree the gear won't help, but it doesn't help that I want to buy more and more. I will look through the shots and see what's the most common. I don't think I shot any at 135mm though, I did tend to gravitate towards the smaller distances thinking back.

I didn't even think about those, I will check those out.

Okay, that makes sense. The goal is to create depth, correct? It did look nice, but I see now that it is a distraction a bit.

Thank you for your advice!

I understand the temptation, yes I agree you tend toward 50-85mm range which is pretty normal.

Don't jump into anything until you've done at least 10 more shoots with your existing lens(es). Lots of people rush out and buy the 135L and wonder why they aren't immediately getting the same results as professionals.

That said, you really won't be making the most of your good camera body using your current lens.

Not a bad start but there is a lot to work on. It's hard to tell what positive points you stumbled upon or you knew were "rules" but great job in 1# posing in a S curve. One rule when photographing females is to make them into curves and cropping at a slim point. When shooting portraits you generally want to shoot at a longer f length and lower f stop. If you end up whipping out your 50 1.8 make sure (if you shoot at 1.8) to focus on the subject's eyes. One other last point this last shot has sun hitting her face in a non flattering way. You don't want your light casting harsh shadows. Find some even light aka shade or put there back to the sun.
