I'm struggling with this decision as well. I didn't upgrade to the 5D3, and the 1D series just doesn't apply to what I shoot. I'm almost entirely landscape, a little macro work. Very seldom do I even use autofocus, of course when you do you want it to perform.

I "think" either one would be a significant upgrade in all areas from my 5D2. Love the resolution of the 5DSr, love the dynamic range of the 5D4. Either should be better on noise with the advantage going to the 5D4.

Hard decision, I nearly bought the 5DS when they came out, but decided to wait for the 5D4 to see what it had. Really it hits all my marks. I suppose the only thing I get with the 5DS is the higher resolution.

I own both and would give a slight edge to the 5DIV as an all around camera.
If you use a tripod a lot it becomes a harder decision. The cropping ability of the 5DsR is amazing.

I found some RAW files and yes the detail and cropping was a pretty amazing. I'm still very happy with my decision.

Both the 5DSR and 5D4 have a lot of AF features that I use. Case numbers for AI Servo, etc so no real difference there but you manual focus most of the time. I wanted a one camera does it all setup. I do a lot of birding and everything else. If you are just doing landscape most of the time seems like a more specialized camera with more resolution may be what you are looking for.

That is a thought I've considered myself for a while. On the other hand, I have been able to print as large as I really want to even with the 5Dc so 30mp sounds like a lot.

It may come down to something as simple as having an onboard gps lol.

Appreciate all the input!
