So in my few months with a black lab I am finding her pretty difficult to photograph. Any tips TOTALLY appreciated

Not a bad shot. The light on it's fur looks pretty good & the nose is almost sharp. I'd crop off a lot of that headroom.

Black dogs are tough. You did great @1/25. I'm trying to decide if you got focus on the right eye vs nose.
Maybe crop out some above the head.

Yes! That crop really changes the photo and sets a mood. Love the paw and laid back look.
