~3 for me, you have isolated the bird and caught it in flight well. The first two shots are too 'busy' - the bird that is in focus is masked by others which are out of focus. If I cannot isolate a bird then I take a wider view and try something more 'artsy' .Hope that makes sense. It is also only my opinion - keep on taking pictures and if you like them then that is what is important.

I get what you're saying. For me, I like the motion as it adds interest which I start to lose after seeing so many "perfect" shots of birds doing nothing.
For instance, look at the seagull here.
Too much grain, too slow a shutter speed, cut off one wing... ; )

thanx and true :-)

the geese surprised me with their departing act and i just could lift up the lens and start shooting there was no time and by it was a prime lens, i not even could change position to get more space between the birds and myself. hope on saturday morning i can retry if weather permit - if it works for sure i'll share here
