DBNissan Goldmember More info | It's a great lens. I've only used the camera combo at a family member's memorial service and it worked well under the dim lighting. It's like having the Canon 24-105mm f4 IS on my 80D but wider. I love the range but it is a bit long in size thus defeating the compactness of the a6500. That's why I'm contemplating on keeping the 16-50mm

DBNissan Goldmember More info | The 18-105mm is a great all around lens. The bokeh is surprisingly smooth for an f4 aperture.

May 06, 2017 08:04 | #161 The 18-105 is a very nice walk around lens. One thing I always heard before getting mine is that it's surprisingly light. That's the first thing I felt too. I expected it to be a big heavy beast kinda like the 24-130 f/4 from Nikon when you pick it up, butnfor is size it's lightweight but not cheaply made. I like that it doesn't extend when you zoom. The fact that it always resets to 18mm when you turn it off doesn't bother me that much. It does take some getting used to the zoom action because it has a slight lag to it when you zoom whether you use the Zoom rocker or you manually zoom. So if say you want to precisely hit 50mm for example it'll take a second or so to get in that range and you might have to fine tune it up or Down to get it. I've gotten used to just getting near the framing that I want and not worry about getting the exact focal length I want. Current Gear: Sony RX1RII

I did experience the terrible dimming of the screen when shooting video of the family at the beach the other day. Shooting in the bright sun with a rear LCD is a challenge for most cameras but when the screen dims to almost darkness you have to get used to almost shooting blind. Yup....one of my least fav things about this camera. Nearly impossible to shoot in day light with the dim screen. Combine that with small sized screen and my poor close vision and I'm pretty much screwed. Cory

Issue is with video since Sunny Weather is deactivated for video, so 1080/120, 4k anything dims it so you can't see anything. Current Gear: Sony RX1RII
