I just got the Godox X1C kit. My 580 exii won't fire with it. The test button does activate the flash and turning the wheel changes the settings on the flash. I've updated the firmware to the most current version. Any help would be appreciated!

Does the firmware version in the Receiver match the firmware version in the transmitter? When I tested the 580EX II in different receivers, with different firmware versions, I had issues when the receiver firmware did not match the transmitter.

Other than that, be sure to triple check the screw lock down and hot-shoe alignment.

One real drawback I find of the Godox big plastic lock down "nut" is that as you apply that last bit of pressure they sometimes want to push the male end out of the female end of the hot-shoe assembly. This can easily = bad pin alignment.

For the record i just retested this same set up with my 580EXII and X1 t and receiver, and I got both test and accurate ETTL exposure. (on 7D2)

I second Cyber about checking pin alignment, and also clean up the pin. Because it also happens often with my Yongnuo YNE3RX receiver on 580EXII.

In case it's helpful, on a whim I ordered the Godox manual flash and a different set of transceiver/receiver.

So I tried to use the new manual flash with the trigger and somehow/somewhere in the configuring...the 580exii started to work with the trigger. I have no explanation of why.

When I received the new set (Flashpoint this time) I decided that if the new set fired the 580exii the first time, I would keep that set and return the first set. It worked and so I'm returning the Godox set.

I am now, however, having trouble updating the firmware in the receiver - keep getting an error message.

The new trigger, however, does fire both the older Canon with the X1R-C attached AND the Godox flash.

As it should! Sounds like a bad trigger. Glad the new one is working.
