Searching for a small case that will hold a canon 1.4x teleconverter on a belt. Leather is preferred, with a snap closure and belt loop or clip. No other items to be stored in the case. I've search the usual online stores and eBay. I also looked at brunton compass cases. Any ideas?

What about this...

Note 86mm diameter is about 3.5 inches.

There also are the Ruggard cases, not leather but a belt loop attachment although I'd loop the carry handle over the belt as well for safety. See http://www.ruggard.com/detail?sku=1157391 (external link). They are sold by B&H.

By the way I'd steer away from leather. It can be expensive and be a breeding ground for fungus when damp.

Not leather but I have been using the Lowepro 8 x 6 cm lens case for my 1.4 extenders for years - they are just the job.

The extender can be put in on it's side without bulging the case = MUCH easier to get it in and out (in a hurry) this way.

This is the one:
