On Friday, December 16, 2016, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will play against the University of Mary-Hardin-Baylor in Salem, VA to declare a new NCAA DIII Football Champion in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.

"The first Division III National Championship took place in 1973. The Division III football postseason started with just four teams and expanded most recently to 32 teams in 2005. The field is currently capped at 32 teams by a vote of the NCAA Division III membership. Mount Union has won 12 Division III football national championships, followed by UW-Whitewater with 6, Augustana with 4 and Ithaca with 3." -D3FOOTBALL.COM (http://d3football.com/playoffs/index (external link))

I've been shooting D3 football for 11 years in the WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference). Here is a quick gathering of some random captures from the 2016 season. I appreciated witnessing four nationally ranked teams this year.

Great set. I love covering football. Number 5 has an odd look to it, is it too much clarity.

Thank you Ben for your visit and your comments. Appreciate it. Photo #5 was deliberately processed that way. It's a bit of an HDR look that I chose to pursue.

Brent, coming from your keen perspective on captures, I really appreciate the observation and the fact that you took the time to remark.
