This was a fun and unique session for me and I'm always thrilled to shoot this wonderful model. Evelyn is not only beautiful and a natural before the camera, but she is also a talented singer and is working on producing her first album. Of course, she wanted some great shots for the cover, website, thumbnails, etc. and I was game (even though I had shut down business for the winter! Not hard to talk me into it.)
Evelyn and her mother always come prepared with ideas, hair and make-up, wardrobe, and specific ideas about what they want. In this case, she was going for moody and melancholy and we were hoping for weather to reflect that. Alas, we arrived on scene to a full sunny sky at mid-afternoon. I have to admit that I was a bit perplexed in how to work things (the pond they chose had a westward view -- terrible for that lighting) and there were few areas to work around that. They had a lot of confidence in me and were willing to accept whatever we could do to make it work -- and we did! Thankfully, the sun moves quickly in the fall here, and though the setting wasn't quite as dark and moody as we hoped, they are very pleased with how the sun played a part.
I have to put in a disclaimer as some of these are edited VERY differently than what I would normally do, in part, due to the light and desire for moodiness, but also for artistic purposes as requested by my clients. Still, I'm happy and proud to share! Feel free to ask me anything.
