About a week ago, I purchased Flashpoint CoolVee 7 Bulb Fluorescent Light with Reflector and Softbox for $99.95 from Adorama:

Then, when I came across its "5 Bulb" cousin, Flashpoint Cool Light 5 Socket Light Unit, for only $16.95 each (or $13.95 each if you buy 2 or more), I came across the idea of combining two of these to make a 10-bulb constant light. Other than a couple of these and 10 light bulbs from Lowes (CFL 5000K, 100w), the only things I needed were a left-over metal strip with holes in it from another DIY some time ago and some spigots to attach to a light stand, as seen here:

Once spigots and metal strip were tightened onto the light stand, it's just a matter of placing the 5-Bulb heads:

These light heads come with individual power switches on the back so you can turn exactly how many bulbs you want to be lighted:

It's then placed inside my Godox 47" Umbrella Octagon Softbox Reflector:

And here's the 10-Bulb Constant Light at work:
