I have a quick question on setting up Adobe CC on two computers at home - one on my desktop and one on my son's computer.

Do the two intsallations have their own catalogs, stored locally? If my son stores his photos locally on his computer and edits them on his machine, versus me doing my photos on my computer, the two catalogs on the two computers will be different, right? Or am I thinking about this wrong? I have no issues with them being separate, just want to know how CC works versus the standalone version which is what I have been using to date. If the CC on two computers behaves like two standalone instances of the program, then I'm fine with that.

Thanks!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

The CC is also a standalone product, except that it phones home to Adobe on a schedule linked to the licensing option you picked. I believe it can go longer without needing a internet connection if you pay for the year up front, compared to paying monthly. Checking on the licence valdility is the only thing that really differentiates the two versions, other than of course that the standalone version no longer gets feature updates, only new cameras, at least for now.

If you are referring to Lightroom catalogs ... I believe it would be separate catalogs on each computer.

Yes, sorry for not being clear. I was referring to Lightroom catalogs. Ok, that answers my question. Thanks to you as well, Al! I will have them loaded on desktops, so continuous Internet connectivity is not an issue.
