Got mine today. When it came, the UPS guy asked me to open the garage door because he did not want to carry that heavy box up the stairs to the front door.

Got mine yesterday! Very pleased with everything, but no matter how many comments I read about the size of this printer I was still shocked!

Of course, I just saw this on the last day. Why am I only seeing a $200.00 rebate? Still a good deal, though.

Happy New Year

Mine came yesterday. Have only played with the lens at this point. I like it a lot. I'll get the printer set up later today or tomorrow.

Mine arrived a little while ago. I started a thread in Market Watch about the packaging, but I thought I would post a photo here. This is how it was packaged (it traveled 900 miles via UPS like this).

Instead of being out playing with my new lens, I'm sitting here fuming about the packaging, wondering why Adorama didn't protect my $1,800 lens with one dollar's worth of bubble wrap.

I got the 100-400 and it was packaged just like that. No damage to the inner box at all so I guess it was not a problem but I did not appreciate the poor packaging either.

Received mine on 23rd of December and it was fully encased in bubble wrap. They sold so many that they ran out of bubble wrap come time to ship yours. Anyway the lens
is well protected as packed by Canon so smile be happy what a deal.

Thanks for posting it for everyone. I saw it on canonpricewatch.com before seeing your post, but I am sure not everyone even knows about that site.

Mine was packaged the same way. Lens is very secure inside its original box. Lens case, bubble wrap. They ship those lenses in the OEM boxes. I'm not worried about it bouncing around inside another box if it can survive being shipped without the big box.

And my lens has worked fine.

The incorrect packaging was down to a rogue packaging machine, not a human.......we started using this around Thanksgiving and monitored it closely for the first 6 weeks. Thanks to this and other forums, we have established that it suddenly started 'playing up'; it has now been recalibrated to add the correct amount of dunnage.

It would be great if any future issues - of any kind - could be reported to me directly and immediately: Helen@adorama.com. Then I can get on to them right away.
