ANOTHER great response/follow up Helen....always appreciated. BTW, mine likewise came without padding. Haven't had the time yet to check if everything ok but appears good, outer box in good condition.

My rebate arrived yesterday! I'm very surprised at Canon's quickness, I don't think I even sent it in until a few days into January. This was an amazing deal, and of course the images I'm getting with the lens have been fantastic.

"Your rebate could not be honored due to: Invalid Postmark Date Invalid Received Date"

What a load of crap, was postmarked before the terms said and would have been received before as well unless USPS messed up. I guess I'm out what $250. Load of garbage, this is why I hate mail in rebates.

You had one month to send the rebate in. Purchase window 11/1/2016 to 12/31/2016. Rebate had to be postmarked no later than 1/30/2017 and received by 2/13/2017.
Maybe you cut it to close or the USPS did mess it up bottom line don't wait till the last minute.

I should of been well within postmark and delivery dates. Was no waiting involved. Guess i'm just unlucky. Just a blah feeling about it getting the envelope saying sorry.

Hard luck. For MIRs, I always go to the post office and make sure the person behind the counter actually postmarks the envelope right there in front of my own eyes :)

By the way, have you seen the show, Hunted, on CBS? According to them, USPS takes a pic of every piece of mail that they handle. Maybe its something that might be worth looking into, if you are absolutely sure that you mailed it on time.

CC always welcome.

Be sure to follow-up and appeal the rejection. I don't know what organization Canon is currently using to process rebates, but I've seen these problems pop up numerous times over the years in forums many have been resolved simply by following up with an appeal. That is a considerable amount of money. Find the appropriate individual to correspond with and don't give up.
