old Sigma 500 4.5 APO (non DG, non HSM) compatibility?

I can't find much of anything about this lens online other than it doesn't work with new canon cameras. But I shoot nikon...

Can anyone confirm that this lens will autofocus and the aperture will stop down on a D610?

Also will the image quality be as good or better than my current Tamron 150-600?

I don't know anything about it. It looks like the aperture should operate as with AF but I wouldn't be able to confirm. IQ wise I say your Tamron wouldn't be much worse
