Well that's hardly surprising, since it is a commercial product, for which they have had a major version release for. Adobe do also give you the means to support your new camera on your old software, via the use of the DNG converter. The DNG convrter will actually allow your camera to work with any version of ACR or LR that you might want to use, so it's not a bad deal. Actually looking at it it would seem as far as Canon are concerned if you have used some of their very early DSLR's you now actually need to have two different versions of the Canon software installed, since they decided not to support all bodies in the latest software, while the latest Adobe offering have full native support for all of Canon's cameras in the single version of the software.
