More great cotton pictures...I like that you showed us the close up of the cotton and I like the old looking building.

And...I'll volunteer for May topics.

It took me a while to complete the January hunt, but I think these will check all the boxes although one or two might be a bit of a liberal interpretation! I'll also throw in a bonus that bridges two of the topics. Here goes!

Rose - just a quick snap of the flower stand at the local grocery store.

Cotton - From my favorite local natre trail; the fluffy stuffing from the cat tails reminded me of cotton.

Orange - Another target of opportunity at the grocery store.

Sun - Again from the nature trail, the sun is trying to shine through the clouds and is getting a bit of a reflection in the creek.

Fiesta - This fiesta was a just for two, enjoying the unseasonably warm January weather with a nice IPA on the front patio (again getting a beer portrait into the hunt!).

Bonus - One last one from the nature trail. I think there are a few elements here. Sun of course, perhaps orange and a touch of rose in the puffy, cottony clouds. Maybe it is a fiesta in the sky?

Ditto on the great set OhioHick and I like how you never pass up an opportunity to include your favorite malt beverages into the hunt.

Orange:
A jar of preserves on a shelf in a restaurant in Linville Falls. I bought some strawberry-rhubarb and it was delicious.

Orange:
While on our "fiesta" daytrip, the wall behind this bench caught my attention.

Don, any time I can get a beer into the action is a good thing! But do keep in mind that I'm a hop-head and try to minimize the malt! 8-) ;-)a

Nicely done everyone. Great images for the January hunt.

Don, very clever with orange bowl and cotton bowl. I think those really captured the underlining theme.

Stina, little fluffy puppies are always a good subject! I had a thought about using a photo of one of our big Maine Coons for “orange” but I’ll save them for something else. The traffic cone is a classic!

Benitoite, great roses! And I liked your fruit still life; a nice balancing act!

MichiTimm, I’m liking the “double feature” approach that you are taking. The cotton duo is very nice.

Dixiedawn, pretty cotton field. I wonder what caused the plunge in cotton production. Is it drought related?

Love the dual orange post as well, MichiTimm.
Thanks, OhioHick I thought of my orange tabby cat as well until I noticed the cone.
I didn't take any more pictures for the month. I have been busy taking care of my mom after she had neck surgery and while driving home today my husband called to say he broke his ankle. I grabbed him and headed to the emergency room. He needs orthopedic surgery and it appears that I am in charge of another patient now. :-|

Fiesta:
Took a day trip to a weird place in South Carolina called South of the Border, pretty much just to take some "fiesta" photos. Had a blast! The colors/symmetry/shadows caught my attention in this scene, but the little poster in the bottom left really set off the "fiesta"-ness of it for me.

This is Pedro. He's HUGE, and he's kind of the claim to fame of this place.

Love the "rose" interpretation, OldCrow! Beautiful shot, too. I did one of mine the same way, kind of thought of it as the past tense of sunrise and waited till the sun rose.
