This shot was taken as the sun was setting behind the mountains over Bear Lake, from my recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

Never been yet when the lake was still totally iced over. Dying to make a winter trip some year. Was the park road open all the way up?

Yeah, from my understanding, road to Bear Lake only closes under extreme circumstances, but is usually open all year round. When I was there, the lake was frozen, but they warned of thin ice. Interestingly, Dream Lake looked thinner in some areas.

Beautiful colors! I would love to see a panoramic shot with more frames stitched together.
