I received a 360-II Canon unit for Christmas, I am using the FP R2 transmitter and receiver and a Canon 6d.
I'm having erratic behavior from the unit and I need help troubleshooting.
I have the transmitter to group A and Channel 1, the receiver shows the same. I am in ETTL mode, the flash units and camera as quell ands the transmitter all show ETTL. When I initially fired test shots it functioned, as I dialed in my HSS and faster shutterspeed to darken the ambient light I started getting "no fires". Went to AV mode and shot, no fire. I've tried everything I can think of and still having and problem.
When I disconnect everything, set it all up again it fires once. I took the 360 off and put my 430EXII on and it fires every time.
If I mount the 360 directly to my camera it fires.
When hooked up to the transmitter and receiver the 360 won't fire with a press of the test Button.
Does not matter if I'm in ETTL or Manual mode. HSS, rear curtain, nothing.
I have 2 other 360 manual units and I have a 180 manual unit so this being my first ETTL unit, hoping I just have something set wrong.

You don't need a receiver unit attached to the 360II-C, they have their own radio receiver built inside.

I don't know if using the second receiver at the same time is possibly causing a conflict and your issues there, though in any case you really wan't to get the internal receiver working anyway.

I reset the transmitter to factory defaults and it does nothing. I can see the light on the receiver go with each attempt to trigger the flash.
I tried it with the manual 360 units and it works flawlessly.
I checked the pins on the unit and they seem to retract ok when I push on them but the until seems to get stuck on the receiver and takes a lot of force and wiggling to get them apart.
Could that be a factor?

Well that makes a hell of a lot more sense.
Will give it a try here in an hour or so.

Congratulations on the new toy..

Resolving technical issues with text is rarely a easy task. Technical details
get lost in the process. So please excuse my attempt if you already
have a solution.
First off the Flashpoint 360II has an integrated transmitter and receiver built in. The Flashpoint R2
if setting on your camera hotshoe should communicate to the flash (Assuming Channel and Group
are the same on both) The only predictable issue I have run across is if the units are to close.

From your original post it is not clear if you are mounting the 360 on a receiver (R2). You do not want to mount the Flashpoint 360 II to a receiver...

Regards,

110yd

Well, it's just simply amazing how well this unit works when you use it correctly! Lol!
I swear I read everything I could and even watched some YouTube videos on this before I put it on my Xmas list and couldn't find anywhere that said you didn't need a receiver on the flash unit itself.
I am thankful for the info guys.
I'm not a big ETTL kind of shooter, I usually use my flash units (speedlights, too) in M mode. Hope the learning curve is not too steep or this technology will be wasted on me.
Thanks again!

The product states, "...with R2 integrated wireless transceiver." :-) Hope that solved the problem.
