Any chance of sigma art 14 2.8?

This is the lens that I most want to see. I know many here are not ever going to be on sigma bandwagon, but the art series is killing it. The 20 looks awesome but I have a 24Lii, and I also have a sigma ex 14 2.8 which is a used gem of UWA. With the 14L being sooo much money, and the sigma 14 being very serviceable, I would be elated if they brought out a 14 2.8 art lens. I would say if it was almost same as 14l for $1000 I would be all over it, but they seem to be doing a lot better than "almost".

Anyone heard any rumors of this being a possibility? I am thinking probably not since they already have a solid WA selection in the art series, but really hoping it happens. Would anyone else be into this or is 14 just too specialized for much demand? I use mine for interiors and landscape as well as creative.

Edit- the 14 2.8 ex really needs to be stopped to 8-10 for useable shots for interiors and the edges are still again just serviceable. I hand hold a lot so Clean at f4 for ISO i can work over in post and less funky distortion would be worth a new lens to me, just not worth $2k for the current best option.

Definitely a chance of a 14mm Art. For the time being the 12-24 Art may work as a stop gap for you. That one is not quite in the same league as the Canon 11-24 but is still a very good lens. I would expect a 14 Art to be quite a bit better than the 14L - even the Sam/Rok has the L beaten in every category except distortion.

I have the 14ex as my stop gap and really I don't consider it that, I think it is a gem for the money, but all the art releases made me think, I like their old ex so much minus some refinement in sharpness and distortion, and all of the art releases are way better than their ex's, it made me wonder if anyone heard if this was a candidate to get the art revamp because if it does it will be good. With what I have read on the 20 and the 85, they are on fire.

I was seriously considering selling my 24Lii and getting a 20 and 35 art, but the 24 art apparently beat up the 24L value a bit and I do like the 14/24/50 transition.

I think there will be some more art primes in the near future.

I think it is a matter of waiting. And I can imagine they are jumping to the Tilt & Shift lenses as well.

I would expect anything over 135 will be called a Sport lens though. They already have the new 500mm f/4 Sport, and of course there is already the 120-300 f/2.8 and the 150-600 Sport as well as the Contemporary version of the 150-600, all three of which have also got new specifically recomputed 1.4× and 2× teleconverters too, which I guess will also suit the new 500mm. Now the 500mm is out I'm not sure which we will see next, the 300mm f/2.8 EX, 800mm f/5.6 EX, and the 300-800mm f/5.6 EX all could do with the Sport treatment. Not forgetting the 200-500 f/2.8, which is a real beast when you see one in person, at £12700 it at least deserves the dock for firmware updates if nothing else, it would probably need to stay rubber armoured with a carry handle, but I'm not sure about OG for the colour in this day and age.

The one concern with Sigma going from EX to Sport is price. Looking at the prices on WEX, it looks like the third stop improvement from f/4.5 to f/4 and addition of OS in the change to Sport has doubled the price of the 500mm prime, only the 200-500 f/2.8 is now more expensive than this lens in the Sigma line up. Still it will now give full AF at 700mm with a 1.4× converter, and f/8 AF at 1000mm with the 2×.

15 2.0 would be super dope. I love sigma, and even if you don't, you have to love what they have done to canon and Nikon.

15 2.0 won't be sub $1000, but still sounds pretty rad. As long as they stay far enough from canon in price, they will keep getting share.

I have a 24 Art and really love it. But used my friend's 35 Art and it would not hit focus for the life of it, which makes me concerned about trying the 85 Art, but the nice thing about UWA is focus becomes much easier.

I would welcome a 14 Art. I tried a used Canon 14L and it just wasn't sharp enough for me. I have a Samyang 14 and that thing is TACK sharp, and it was hard to justify the $1500 I spent for the used 14L. Samyang just updated their 14 with an XP series f/2.4, but at $1000 and lacking autofocus, it's hard to justify.

tl;dr - Would buy 14 Art immediately if released.

How about a Sigma Art 14 1.8 instead?
