hi there.

quick question: does anyone here have a comparison of the new 1500 euro meyer optick (resurected) vs the old one.

i am intrested if the new one brings something new to the table that the old one didn't ... and if they have changed anything of the old (I am looking for the soap bubble background)

obviously the price difference is significant (ebay has some versions in the 6-800) vs 1500 euro
and the other difference I can note is that the new one comes in canon mounts vs the old one.

i, however, am looking for a comparison of functionality
if anyone knows....

thanks!!!

New one should have better AR coatings.
With the old Meyer Optik Trioplan 100 (external link) I often use my left hand to block direct sunlight hitting the front lens. Otherwise the contrast would be very bad in many images I make.

it doesnt have a hood? even a rubber screw on one would be useful (albeit not designed specifically for it)

the link - is that your page? if so...then wow
wow for the pics and wow for the change in price!!!

Yes that my page. Thank you :-)
I have a hood for my old one, but it is far from ideal, should be longer. But on the other side it probably would disturb blur circels when it would be long enough.
The price change it big, yes. But as much as you like my images, I think many others likethis special bokeh (external link) too. Other lenses may give such a kind of bokeh too - I have several different lenses for that, several Telemegor, Primoplan and Primtar, and the Nikkor 105 Defocus Control. But I love the Trioplan 100 and its sisters most.
