Makes you wonder why she has such an expression, what's she thinking, what's going on in her life... The wrinkles in the clothing don't bother me, but what does is the bland pose and complete lack of facial expression, indicating total boredom or apathy on her part. Do you have any other images from this set?

Intheswamp Endeavor to Persevere More info | Jan 05, 2017 13:56 | #7 She appears to be a lady, though with the stern look there could be some discussion about that. She's also wearing red clothing against a red background...definitely red, even drifting off into a really CRIMSON red (ROLL TIDE!!!...oops, couldn't resist). The poorest of the poor. (2 edits in all) | Jan 05, 2017 14:24 | #8 Let me ask this, if I wanted to make a portrait and I wanted the person to appear upset or angry, what colors should I use? What pose and look should she/he be giving? Would you have the same feelings if the background and dress where green or blue?

Do you have any other images from this set? FWIW, I would remove some of the red tones from her skin as well - ESPECIALLY her hands, they're bright magenta - add in some cyan and yellow to balance it out, and maybe bring up the exposure on her face a little so she pops more. It would be super easy with layer masks on curves or selective color or color balance or hue/saturation or whatever method you want to use. This is it for me as well. She looks bored to the point where she's starting to get mad. Like maybe you were taking too long to do this or that and she is ready to go home. Remember what the DorMouse said.....feed your head.

There have been artists that have had entire careers with work based on our physiological response to color.
