I thought I removed a protective cover already, but I will try again when I get home from work. Is there an obvious shipping cover and a protective film that is harder to remove? It must be perfectly cut since I can't seem to remove it assuming it has one.

Well yours looks just like mine but I was able to peel up a little bit then I decided I"ll just leave them on. I left the film on all of my 360's and it never affected me in any way and they still look new.

Hey man...

Peel that film off. Or leave it on so it keeps protecting the plastic screen underneath.

Let me translate that for you: The film is still on.

Looks that way to me and the scratches seem to have originated pre-assembly, since there is no evidence of similar scratching on the buttons. Looks horrible just now but there is a perfect pristine screen underneath, I'm sure.

David.
Comment and (constructive) criticism always welcome.

Thanks all and to Helen for offering to take care of it so quickly, so great service from her and Adorama. I'll give it another look as I wouldn't want them to replace a unit if it is just the protective cover. If that is the case, I don't mind leaving the cover on, but maybe the screen will be a bit brighter without it.

Not much brighter at all without it. After seeing one with it removed I left mine on.

Now all I have to do is find a PC that way I can update them with so I can use them with my Fuji system. Really wish it supported mac for updates!

Works great for me under VMWare Fusion (Win 7).

I already ordered a second unit on Friday, which will arrive on Tuesday. Now the question is whether I should order a few more while they are on sale and just sell the heavier XPLOR 600 units as I really like the portability of the eVOLV and Helen has shown they stand by the priduct. Maybe preorder a few dual brackets.

Adorama stands by their product like no other. I've had the following issues though:

BP960 battery pack rear belt clip broke on first use - sent me a new clip
LCD on AD360II was intermittently not displaying text - Sent me new replacement

On top of that have answered all my emails and provided great communication.

I don't care what price or equal you can get elsewhere... Flashpoint is the product to buy.

Anyone selling gels for these reflectors? I don't know why most mfg selling grids, gels sell those red, blue, green colored gels. To me, charge me more but offer 1/4, 1/2 and full CTO/CTB.

I just buy a sheet and use the little frosted plastic and ring that comes with the reflector to hold it in place.

IMHO, the LCD on these is too dim for easy outdoor viewing in strong light. It's just seems to be a fact.

These fold up to a length that should just be a bit shorter than the interior dimensions of the case, if nothing else, I can run them diagonally.

https://www.adorama.com/bg3373.html (external link)

Seems to be the same as what Christopher posted.

I am also getting the Neewer clamps that will fit on the top of these and they can double up as reflector stands.

https://www.amazon.com …age_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (external link)

This way one case can hold stands, clamps, and lights, giving me flexibility in how I set up the lights.

Okay, both the clamps and the stands are quite nice. The clamps aren't plastic like alot of the Neewer stuff, and the stands are pretty sturdy for what they are. I wouldn't use them in a wind (would in a breezy area, but with weights on the stand base), but would fine in calm areas, or indoors. They should support the AD200, hold pop-out reflectors with the Neewer clamps, or even hold a collapsible backdrop. And... they fit in the Pelican and Monoprice cases!

Helen,

Is it possible for someone to perform the firmware upgrade for the ad200 and the zoom mini flash so they will be fully compatible with the Fuji system before I purchase them?

The firmware updates are windows only and I don't have access to a windows machine at the moment.

Thanks!
