How far away from the subject can you get away with using the Westcott outdoors with the ad200? Depends on the time of day. Golden hour as a fill it works fine. Midday or trying to kill outdoor ambient, you'll need the dual head or ad600 focalpointsphoto.com

I spent probably 2 hours trying to something close. I thought it would be a bit easier than that. I just cannot time it for the umbrella effect. I ended up just giving up and squirting/pouring water in.Hosted photo: posted by TeamSpeed in ./showthread.php?p=18493033&i=i263068655 forum: Flash and Studio Lighting Hosted photo: posted by TeamSpeed in ./showthread.php?p=18493033&i=i261846390 forum: Flash and Studio Lighting You're approaching the crown effect, but the gels really wake them up. Both nice shots. I read up on this once a long time ago, but never had the gear to pull this off. I'll give it a try after reading up on it and see what I can pull out of the water.
