I am clearing the dust off my Intuos4 tablet. Not really... it's just been sitting in its box for the better part of 3 years, maybe more.

I'm using Photoshop CC and a 17 inch MacBook running El Capitan. This weekend was the first time using it on this machine (previous on MacBook non Pro running Snow Leopard with no issues).

Couple of issues:

  • Zoom does not work with the touch ring. Default is Scroll/Zoom. It only scrolls. Changed it in settings to only Zoom, but still scrolls.
  • Ink Toggle doesn't work when I try to designate it for one of the buttons on the pen. It tries to open the Ink handwriting app instead.
  • After using the pen or mouse for a bit, the cursor eventually freezes. I know that the pen is still connected - when I go to the Wacom settings and click on pen, the pen settings respond to tip pressure.
I'm thinking it's a driver issue. I have the Intuos4 cd, but I cannot install because "PowerPCs are no longer supported." I tried using both "latest" and "previous" drivers for the Intuos system: http://www.wacom.com …t/product-support/drivers (external link)

Any feedback on any or all the issues above appreciated. I'm going to email Wacom, as well.

Thanks.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

I have an intuos 4, but I don't have these issues and think it is likely to be a driver issue as you suggested. Personally I would ask on the Wacom forums or contact Wacom support directly, since you are more likely to find the right solution that way.

I have an Intuos pro, but I had a similar issue that sounds a bit like yours.

I did the update that the Wacom app nagged me for back in December. shortly after, started having jitter issues in some apps, in some windows, but not all. Also had an issue where with certain double finger taps, it would zoom to 200%, but not always.
Downloaded the latest update last week and no fix to issue.

Uninstalled all Wacom files and reinstalled latest driver and utility, still no fix.

Then I uninstalled all Wacom traces and reinstalled the original driver and utilities I got when new (I kept in archive) and all is good again.
